Over the last week we have been hitting the road pretty frequently. Going back and forth over the hill to take Momma to the airport. (Her grandma is doing well, they transferred her out of the ICU and in to a normal room. In the next couple of days she will be able to go home. Thank you for your prayers.) Being on the road with the wee ones you learn what is a must.
- Drinks and snacks
- They will always get hungry and thirsty.
- To minimize the cleanup later utilize spill free cups
- We bring ZBars, trail mix, bananas, and we try to keep it healthy.
- Entertainment
- Remember their kids, they get antsy
- Portable DVD player
- We let them pick out a couple of toys
- The big one has a Nintendo DS
- Sing along music
- Always stop every couple of hours for breaks
- Bathroom
- Just to get out and stretch their legs
- Spending 5-10 mins every couple of hours to wiggle about makes a huge difference on a long trip
The biggest factor in making a road trip enjoyable is you. Be happy and positive. Do not be in such a hurry and enjoy the journey.
Life is a journey, not a destination. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

It has been an interesting week, two hospital visits. The first was our youngest. He had to have 6 stitches. He was such a brave little man, he did not cry or whimper through the Dr. sewing his thumb up. He is doing well and the stitches are to come out on Monday. The second is my wife’s grandmother, she suffered a heart attack. She is currently stable but the latest word from my wife who is currently there is that they have to incubate. Her name is Arlynn, and I ask all of you to please pray for her. I would be much obliged.
