NickRae.net works without optional measurement. Google's analytics and advertising-measurement tag loads only after you choose “Allow measurement.”

What this site stores

The site stores your optional analytics choice in your browser's local storage so the privacy banner does not ask on every page. The embedded Kit signup form may also use browser storage to recognize form visitors and previous subscribers. Static tools, including the flight-hour calculator, run in your browser and do not send calculator inputs to NickRae.net.

Optional Google analytics and advertising measurement

If you allow measurement, the site loads Google's tag for aggregate traffic and outbound-link click measurement, and Google can set measurement cookies. Events may include the page path, clicked link, placement, destination host, and product category. This site's own event code removes query strings and fragments from the page, referrer, and link URL fields it explicitly sends. A calculator-use event records that the calculator was used, without the numbers you entered or the calculated results. Ad personalization signals are disabled by this site's loader. Google may still process technical information under its own policies.

When measurement is allowed, events can record a signup form being shown, submitted, or displaying Kit’s accepted message. Email addresses and form contents are not sent by this measurement code. An accepted message does not establish email confirmation or a purchase.

Links published with the free PPL cards campaign can identify YouTube and the specific video or channel profile, or X and the Flight Funded article. A link from the Pilot AI Tools FAA MedGuide email newsletter can also identify that newsletter issue and its companion article. If you allow measurement, only those predefined campaign labels are supplied to Google; arbitrary URL parameters are not forwarded by this campaign code.

Google measurement stays off until you allow it. Withdrawing permission immediately stops this site's measurement events, updates Google's consent settings, clears known Google measurement cookies, and reloads the page without the measurement tag. Google may receive consent-status signals during shutdown; requests already sent or in progress cannot be recalled. You can change the choice below.

If your browser prevents saving a change, this site's measurement events stay off for the current page and automatic reload is skipped. An earlier saved choice may apply when you navigate later.

External services and links

The site links to services such as Amazon, Gumroad, Apple, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, GitHub, and standalone product sites. Those services receive normal request information when you follow a link and apply their own privacy policies. Purchases and downloads are processed by the destination service, not by NickRae.net.

Email signup and free private pilot cards

The site includes a Kit signup form for five free Private Pilot Oral Scenario Cards and occasional aviation study tips from Nick Rae. When you submit the form, Kit processes your email address and sends a confirmation email. Confirming your subscription gives you access to the free PDF. You can unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter email.

The embedded form loads Kit's scripts and may send technical and form-visit information, such as your IP address, browser information, page address and referrer, to Kit when the form loads. This form operates separately from the optional Google measurement choice. Kit handles this information under its privacy policy. The site keeps predefined free PPL cards campaign labels on internal page links and the hosted Kit form link, so Kit can associate a signup with its source. This uses the link URL without adding cookies or browser storage. Kit’s native attribution records the campaign and referring page at signup; an untagged visit may have limited or unknown source information.

If Kit’s enhanced submission script is unavailable but its form can still submit, the site supplies the current page path, the predefined campaign labels and the referring page path with that submission. This fallback removes other query parameters and fragments and does not change your Google measurement choice.

Emails and direct contact

If you email Nick directly, the message and address are used to respond and maintain the conversation. Calculator inputs are not uploaded.

Product-specific policies

Apps and products may have separate privacy and terms pages describing their own data handling. Those product policies control for the product itself.
