I built FeedFare around a simple idea: give a little movement a place in the moments we would otherwise spend scrolling. Pick the apps you want to spend less time in, take a walk, and use the minutes you earn when you are ready.
FeedFare is now available on the App Store for US $4.99 as a one-time download. The full native app is included, with no in-app trial, paywall, or required subscription.
A small rule before the next scroll
Opening an app can become something you do without much thought. FeedFare adds a decision to that moment: how much time do I want to spend here, and what walk could come first?
You choose the apps and the walking rule. The aim is to make movement part of your everyday routine, with a clear connection between the steps you take and the screen time you use.
How FeedFare works
- Choose your apps. Connect Screen Time and select the apps you want FeedFare to protect. Start with the ones you tend to open out of habit.
- Walk to earn minutes. Connect Apple Health and set your walking rule. The default is 100 steps for 5 minutes. You can adjust it to suit your day; changes apply to future credits, and unused minutes carry over.
- Use a timed session. Spend your earned balance to unlock one selected app for the time you choose. Your other selections stay protected, and protection returns when the session ends.
App protection depends on Screen Time authorization and Apple's system services. Website blocking is not supported.
Rebuilt for iPhone and iPad
This release is a native SwiftUI app with a new blue footprint icon, light and dark appearances, and Liquid Glass on supported system versions. It requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or later.
The dashboard brings today's steps and available minutes together. Activity shows your daily history, while Stats helps you follow recent movement and streaks. The idea is to make your next decision easy to see: take a walk, check your balance, or start a session.
Where your steps come from
With permission, Apple Health supplies your step counts, including compatible Apple Watch steps after they sync to your iPhone. You do not need a watch. Motion & Fitness can provide live iPhone steps while FeedFare is open.
Background Health updates can arrive later. If the total has not caught up after a walk, open FeedFare and refresh your progress.
The native app stores your progress and app selections on your device. It does not require a FeedFare account and includes no advertising or third-party analytics SDK. Device backups follow your Apple settings. You can read more in the app privacy policy.
One purchase, full access
I chose a one-time download price for the native app: US $4.99, with the full app included. There is no monthly plan to choose or in-app unlock to buy. Regional prices and availability are shown on the App Store.
If you already own FeedFare, install the update using the Apple Account that owns the app to receive full native access on a supported device. Help with setup and previous purchases is available on the support page.
Start with one app and a walk
Choose one app you would like to use more intentionally. Connect your steps and Screen Time, set a walking rule, and try your first earned session.
